Limosilactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 in pediatric functional abdominal pain and constipation
A systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the probiotic in children. Five randomized controlled trials with 302 children were analyzed for functional abdominal pain, and five trials with 276 children for functional constipation.
The probiotic was not associated with significant differences in abdominal-pain responder rates (risk ratio 1.11; 95% CI 0.83–1.47; p = 0.49) or stool frequency in constipation (risk ratio 1.10; 95% CI 0.94–1.27; p = 0.27).
Doses and treatment durations were not reported in the abstract.
