Accuracy and change
An error, new evidence and a method change are not the same event.
Microbiomer keeps published updates as they were released. If an update contains an inaccuracy, we check the report, correct the underlying data or process and strengthen the safeguard that should have caught it. The published page does not change.
This keeps two records distinct: what Microbiomer published on a given day, and what the project learned and changed afterwards.
Three kinds of change
A factual inaccuracy
A Microbiomer statement does not match its source or goes beyond what the source can support. We verify the report, record the error internally and address its cause in the data, method or checks. The published update remains unchanged.
New evidence
A later study may change the evidence picture without making an earlier update inaccurate. The earlier update remains a dated account of the literature reviewed at the time. The new study enters the current evidence process.
A method change
Microbiomer may change how literature is reviewed, classified or described. The current method carries its version and effective date. Earlier updates are not rewritten under the new method.
Report a potential error
Please include these three things:
- the page URL, update date or record identifier;
- the exact Microbiomer statement in question;
- a short explanation of what may be inaccurate.
If available, also include the source—such as a PMID, DOI or link—and how you noticed the problem. The way an error was found can reveal a gap in our checks.

Please do not send personal data or medical information. Microbiomer does not provide individual medical, diagnostic or dietary advice.
What happens after a report
We check the quoted statement against the published page and the available source. We then classify the report as a factual inaccuracy, new evidence or a method change.
We acknowledge receipt of correction reports within seven calendar days. Verification may take longer. When the review is complete, our reply states what we checked, what we found and what will change as a result.
The published update remains a dated record and is not silently rewritten. We do not promise a public correction entry. Reports are handled outside the daily publication cycle.
